Vintage Cars

Vintage cars hold a special place in the hearts of the people who love them.  There is just something wonderful about the look and feel of a  vintage classic car that brings back memories of an entire era of a society.  We seem to be intimately tied to the cars we drive for some reason.   There is no real rhyme or reason to what kind of vintage car will grab your attention.

This site is dedicated to all things related to vintage cars.  I’m not any kind of expert on putting together websites about cars, but I do like old cars and I hope that I can find some things that interest visitors too.  This site definitely isn’t fancy but I’ll do my best to write about things of interest to vintage and antique car fans.  I should mention that I realize that the definition of “vintage car” generally is cars manufactured up to World War I.  For the purposes of this blog though, I am also including “classic cars” and “modern classic cars” which all have their own special definitions depending on who you want to cite as the authority.  I am writing this blog because I like old cars.  It may be a car from the 1920s or one from the 1970s.  I like to look at all of the old vehicles out there and when I see something I like, I stop and check it out.  So my use of the word “vintage” may be a bit liberal for some, but I hope you will still find something you like here.

Classic and vintage cars draw a lot of attention whether they are rolling down the street or just sitting there being admired.  To me, they seem to have so much more character than what is being driven around today.  It seems like cars today are being built much more with an eye to how “green” they can be made.  They have to be “practical” before they ever get to local car dealer.  There’s nothing wrong with that of course, but it feels like something special has been lost.  I was too young to drive during the prime years of American muscle cars, but I’d like to own one of each.  I don’t think I could say the same about any cars that have been built by the major American auto makers since the 1980’s.  That’s not to say that I’d turn down a Corvette from the 90’s if I won it in a raffle, but I’d rather have a Camaro from the late 60’s or early 70’s without a doubt.

If you don’t believe that there is a huge vintage car market out there, just take a look at eBay or other websites dealing in classic cars.  Even without considering the actual vintage cars for sale, there are vintage car signs, vintage car advertisements, vintage car posters…all for sale and getting snapped up every day.  People love the things.

Old automobiles are a great hobby, but they are also big business.  Old used cars still bring a nice payday if they are classics.  Look up old Cadillacs or old convertibles on a car selling site, and check out how they are doing.  Chances are the prices are pretty steep.  Look up something really popular like old Mustangs and the price might knock you for a loop even before you talk to anyone who does auto restoration.  If you can do that work yourself, you have a leg up on all of those people who just want to drive a sweet ride but have no idea about how to fix up a classic car.

This Vintage Car Blog will try to help out anyone who is looking to buy, sell, or just admire classic cars.  You will find videos, articles and even classic car sales if that is what interests you.  I’ll also post things that are more general in nature, but still related to cars.  Thank you for stopping by.  I hope you like my Vintage Cars Blog.
